What Would Jabba the Hutt Look Like?

The developers of Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes have suggested they are going to be focusing on Original Trilogy characters in the near future. Leaks and speculation lead me to think that we are going to be getting C-3P0 added to the game. But there may be another minor character that we are overlooking. And although this character may be a minor character in the overall flow of the galactic canon, there’s nothing small about Jabba the Hutt. So, what would Jabba the Hutt look like in SWGOH?

Here are my thoughts.

Alignment,Faction, and Synergies

It has long since been my belief that we need a faction that neither aligns with the light side or the dark side. This faction or alignment would be able to be played in both light side and dark side battles. When the devs added the neutral alignment to the game, I believed my thoughts had been heard. But they have yet to add anyone to this category. It would make sense that Jabba the Hutt would be the first addition to the game with a neutral tag.

Space gangsters like the Hutts were neither light nor dark. They were bad, as all mafioso types are, but they were not above working with both good and bad, light and dark.

As far as what faction Jabba should belong to, he should be added to a few different one. He’s clearly a scoundrel. But there should be more for him. Jabba should be the first addition to the Crime Syndicate/Underworld faction. This could be the start of a new series of additions to the game of some of the lesser known, but much beloved members of Star Wars criminal underworld.

And when it comes to synergies, Jabba should be able to influence all scoundrels and bounty hunters, with key connections to characters like Boba Fett, Dengar, Bossk, Gamorean Guard, and anyone else connected to the character.

Stats and Abilities

Jabba the Hutt is a character with clear leadership abilities. It takes some serious “human” resource skill to manage a criminal empire the size of the Hutt’s. That being said, Jabba should have a strong leadership ability that grants characters some serious bonues and abilities. And while he should be a strong leader, his stats should be on the weaker side. His health should be on par with middle of the road characters. He should be the slowest, or at least one but shouldn’t be able to attack very often. Hutts were very strong after all.

  • Might Swing (Basic):Jabba takes one mighty swing against an enemy. This has a high damage varianceand 30% chance to miss. If this attack lands, enemy is stunned for 1 turn. Whenthe stun wears off, they are dazed for 2 turns.
  • Good Help (Special; 3 turn cool down): Bounty Hunter andScoundrel allies gain 20% turn meter. This is increased 5% for each Rebel,Jedi, or Empire enemy.
  • Scum and Villany (Leader; zeta): Scoundrel allies gain 5% speed, critical chance, and critical damagefor each Scoundrel or Bounty Hunter allies in this squad. Whenever anotherScoundrel or Bounty Hunter ally is defeated, Scoundrel allies gain 50% turnmeter. Contract: Defeat the strongest Rebel, Jedi, or Empire enemy. Reward:Whenever a Bounty Hunter performs a basic attack, they have a 90% chance toattack a second time for 80% damage.
  • Plan Ahead (Unique): Jabba takes a bonus turn at thestart of each encounter. When facing off against a Jedi, the cool downs of hissquad are reduced by 1.
  • Vicious Temper (Unique): Once Jabba is hit, he gainsretribution for the remainder of the battle. Each time Jabba takes damage, hiscritical hit and critical damage chances increase by 5% stacking for the remainder of the battle
