Is General Ani the Next Malak Style Event or Will He Just Be Needed for One?
With the addition of the 501st tag and the rework of Rex, Echo, and 5s, rumors have been flying around the holotable about what it could mean. The most common rumor rounding the corners of the internet are all around General Anakin and a Malak-style event. In short, people think the chosen one will be the character added to the net epic confrontation. But do we have enough for General Skywalker to be part of the next event?
Let’s find out.
What’s Been Said
Early in August, the devs held their quarterly Q&A where they answered various community questions. Typically, these events are just an opportunity to address parts of the game that aren’t working properly and answer questions they’ve already addressed dozens of times in the past. (We’re not getting a sandbox, no matter how some much players want one.) While addressing the much desired second coming of Malak to the game, it was announced that the powers that be are already hard at work on the next Malak-style event.
There was little more said than “we are hard at work” –or something to that effect– but that coupled with the focus on Clone Wars content, General Anakin was a logic guess.
The Rumor
It almost seems like it’s been going on since launch, but the good ship Capital Games has a leak. No one knows where the hole is, but some major events have been shared with the community. We learned about the General Grevious rework, the C3P-0 event, and a number of other major changes to Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes. So when new information is discussed, it’s not a bad idea to take a look at what’s being said.
Recently, CG’s DeepThroat has struck again with a new rumor. Not only is a Ki-Adi-Mundi event in the works, as well as a much-need upgrade to Master Mace Windu, but a General Anakin epic confrontation event is also on the way.
Here’s the leak from the friend of the friend? Will it be accurate? Time will tell.
My Thoughts on General Skywalker
Now, it’s important to take this information with a grain of salt. Even if this IS what’s on its way, we don’t know when or in what form. Sooner rather than later makes the most sense, but you know what they say about assuming: DON’T DO IT! This could be nothing more than wishful thinking. Or the friend of a friend of a friend who has a cousin who works at CG as a janitor heard something once. The point is, not all internet rumors have legs to stand on.
