Avoid Panic Farming in 2019

My Personal Strategy to Avoiding the SWGOH Panic Farmin in 2019

Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes recently entered it’s 3rd year of life and shows no sign of slowing down. If 2019 plays out like every previous year, then it’s likely that we are going to see new playable characters, a new raid, and maybe even a new mode or two. With all that is potentially on it’s way, how can I as a free to play player avoid panic farming in 2019?

I’ve come up with three ways that I personally am going to avoid the sudden character grind. You can check out my video below or read on to get more information as to why I am doing what I am doing.

The Quick and Dirty Guide to My Avoid Panic Farming Plan for 2019

Make Goals

The thing about goal setting is that most people don’t do it right. And if they do, when they don’t acheive their goals, they get pissed off and go back on what they were trying to do in the first place. When making goals you need to make sure they are attainable and time-based.

Attainable goals are ones that are within our grasp. They will push us to be better but no so much that the become unreasonable. Time-based goals are ones set within a specific time frame. If we don’t give ourself a time frame to work in, we’ll never see movement on our goals.

I have three goals for Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes (SWGOH) in 2019:

  • Finish in the top 50 in my arena 5 out of 7 days a week.
  • Finish in the top 50 of my ship arena 5 out of 7 days a week.
  • Participate and finish in the top 15 of each raid every time my guild launches one

I am capable of acheiving each of these three goals with my current roster. The purpose of the goals is to make sure that I am getting a consistant flow of gear, credits, and other resources so that I can maintain a consistant farm.

Make a Plan

and stick to it, dang it! If you don’t have a plan off attack, then you are going to find yourself jumping from one character farm to the next without any real purpose. You plan of attack should list out your immediate needs, near-immediate needs, and long-term needs. You can see how I did this with my 3 Column System in my video linked above.

Immediate Needs are those needs that you have immediately (I shouldn’t have had to spell that out but I wanted to be clear). The best example of this is the STR or the Grand Arena. What toons do you need to gear up to be viable in these areas? Figure out which you are missing and focus on gearing them up. You will want to find any characters that are useful in both and focus on them first.

Near-Immediate Needs are those that you are either going to need in the future or think might be important to focus on in the future. This takes a little more strategy. If you have one team for the STR and only half a team for the Grand Arena, you will benefit from selecting a small group of toons and passiving focusing on them as resources become available to level them up.

Future Needs this group is for those who you think will be viable or needed at some future date. These are your least important toons to focus on, but you also need to not forget about them.

Gain Knowledge

The last thing you need to do is gain as much knowledge about the game, your squad, your guild, and the future as possible. This will help you keep to your plan and help you to prepare for what’s to come. Knowing is more than half the battle. G.I. Joe has lied to you. If you can purposfully prepare for your next farm, your next raid focus, your next Grand Arena opponent, then you will be able to avoid panic farming in 2019.

Now these are just a few tips on how I plan on doing the farm. For more information on SWGOH, visit us on YouTube or join the conversation on Discord.
