Agents of SHIELD Recap S4 E15 “Self Control” (Spoilers Ahead)

As Aida continues down a path of insanity, Fitz and Simmons deal with 4 LMDs in SHIELD headquarters. Find out what happens in this weeks episode Self Control. Read more below!

Important Things to Know Going Into This Week’s Episode

The biggest thing to remember is that Coulson, Mack, Daisy, and Mace have all been replaced by LMDs. That is going to be an incredibly difficult task for Fitz and Simmons to handle.

With this also being the last episode until April, I imagine we’ll see the culmination of Aida’s storyline.

The Biggest Moments In This Week’s Episode (SPOILERS!)

1. The LMDs know what they are.

When May was replaced with an LMD, it had no idea that it was a replacement. These new LMDs know, and they are actively operating under Radcliffe’s instructions. I also don’t remember how May’s LMD came back into play, but the conversation between it and Coulson’s LMD is very interesting. The description of Radcliffe and Aida’s new world seems incredible, and, on the surface, should be the best thing anybody could wish for. That is exactly why it is an issue though. That isn’t real, and it is way too dangerous.

2. Fitz is also an LMD!

Will this show ever stop messing with one of the purest romantic relationships ever? It is getting ridiculous, just like Fitz says, although the moment is lost slightly when we realize that Fitz has also been replaced by an LMD. I never thought that I would see Simmons attack and kill Fitz, but that’s what you do when you find out that an LMD is trying to turn you and destroy the world.

3. Daisy’s Discovery:

Apparently Aida and the LMDs are working out a way to create a whole army of Daisy replicas. I’m not sure why I was under the impression that Daisy had been replaced at the end of last week’s episode, but I’m glad that she actually isn’t. Watching her and Simmons work together to fight against the LMDs of their friends is one of the most incredible things I have ever seen as a part of the show.

Extras:

I planned on writing about the other cool things in this episode, but I decided not to. I don’t want to spoil too much about the episode, because it’s good enough that you should watch it to see everything for yourself. Just keep in mind that every single part of the episode is important to the overall story.

Ryan’s Speculation of the week:

I wasn’t expecting the season to be split into three parts. It will be interesting to see what the last third of the show focuses on. My bet is that they heavily focus on the Inhumans. It will likely be a different story than we’ve seen with them so far, especially because the Watchdogs are not the same. Using the last 7 episodes to tie us to the Inhumans show coming in September would be absolutely amazing! I sincerely hope that is the direction they choose to go. I wouldn’t be surprised if we don’t get that though. The ending of this episode suggests that there is plenty that still needs to happen.
