Assault Battles: Places of Power

Places of Power is the new Assault Battle for the Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes mobile game. Like the other Assault Battles, Places of Power is an event that allows Holotable heroes pit certain teams against a faction for ship blueprints, shards, gear, and money. Players will face 8 waves of opponents who increase in difficulty as they progress through the phases. This latest event will have your Sith or First Order teams face off against Jedi opponents.

Event Information

Places of Power starts on Friday, the 25th of February and runs through the 27th. There are three tiers available in the event, 70, 80, and a Bonus tier. If you’ve played the other events, you know the bonus tier is ridiculously difficult. It’s meant to challenge the player’s ability to build and use their teams strategically. If you are level 85 and your teams are un-zetaed…don’t be surprised if you struggle with this tier.

But don’t worry, you can try each level as many times as it takes to beat the tier in question.

What makes this Assault Battle different than others is that this is the first AB that will have ships shards and building materials available as an award. These will be light side ship blueprints, so if you are looking to get shards for your Ties, you’re out of luck.

As with each Assault Battle, there is a unique ability you can use to help you work your way through the various phases. In Places of Power, Dark Gambit allows you to sacrifice a unit’s health to gain multiple buffs. It doesn’t say that if you sacrifice one unit’s health it gives buffs to another unit. It’s likely that if you sacrifice the health of a unit, the buffs will only go to that unit.

Strategy

It’s hard to say what the best way to beat this new Assault Battle will be. Personally, I am going to be using a Palpatine lead. Palpatine’s command ability grants +32% potency and max health to Empire and Sith allies. It also gives -32% potency and evasion to Jedi and Rebel teams. I don’t know how effective this effect will be in the event but it’s worth a try. If you have a zetad Vader, use him He grants Sith and Empire allies 30% offense and 50% chance to remove 20% turn meter when they damage an enemy. He also adds damage over time, like always.

If you have Maul, use him. He is powerful against all Jedi expect Obi-Wan Kenobi. Just kidding. Count Dooku’s retribution and stun are almost a must in this raid. Whoever you decide to use, make sure they have quality mods, gear, and are at a high level.

Places of Power

By the time the event is live, players will be able to use Darth Nihilus. He won’t be maxed out, but it could be fun to see him in action.

Place of Power First Order

Like all Assault Battles, Places of Power will be a repeating event where people can participate to receive credits, gear, shards, and ship blueprints. I am looking forward to using this event to level up my light side ships and Jedi. I will be posting a video to our Youtube channel that will walk you through the event.
