Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes Event Recap: Lord of Hunger

So the big day is here. If you’ve logged in to SWGOH today, you’ve seen a flurry of new information regarding and surrounding the Lord of Hunger event. Developers have reworked the Sith team so now they are more powerful and actually worth farming. Additionally, the Rogue One characters are now in available in the Chromium Packs and for a low, low price of 39.99 plus tax you can get the Kylo Ren pack. Is it worth it? That’s debatable.

But while all that information is important, this post is going to focus on the actual fighting. The video below is my first attempt at the Lord of Hunger event.

Lord of Hunger I First Attempt

As you can see, the minimum level to enter the event is 20, and each tier raises the difficulty level by 20 until level 80. The first round of fighting is against clones. The second round looks like we will face Jedi. The third round will pit you against the Empire and Krennic’s team. The final round will have us face the Sith and Darth Nihilus himself.

Against the Clone team you may want to use a stealth team. If you have Palpatine, use him and an Empire team against the clones. And against Krennic’s Empire, just don’t use a rebel team. Actually, use whatever team you have that is most powerful. This event isn’t the most difficult we’ve seen. At least so far.

I do think the final Sith team we face will be tough to beat.

Event Dates

The event is going to run off and on for the next 11 days. We’ve already seen the first round end and the second is close to starting. Listed below are the beginning and end dates and which shards will be available for each. As we’ve seen in the first round, it’s likely that these shards will be accompanied by 150K in credits.

·         Event 1:Feb 16th – 18th   Sith Trooper

·         Event 2: Feb 18th – 20th  Sith Assassin

·         Event 3: Feb 23rd – 25th  Darth Nihilus

·         Event 4: Feb 25th – 27th  Darth Nihilus

The New Sith

We got a pretty sweet Dark Side game update earlier this week. If you use your Sith at all, you probably saw an uptick in their viability. With the addition of three new Sith characters, the faction itself is starting to look pretty fleshed out. Starting with Darth Nihilus,  I’ve posted the abilities of these new characters in the section below. These images are thanks to the good people over at SWGOH.GG.

Darth Nihlus stats

Darth Nihilus is freaking powerhouse. Annihilate is going to be a beast to overcome. My poor little Ewoks won’t stand a chance against an ability like that. His leader ability looks like it’s going to be interesting to see in action. Sith allies lose all protection and gain that much in health? They can’t score a crit? I look forward to seeing this leader ability in action. I also look forward to seeing how it works at lower levels versus higher levels.

Sith Assassin Stats

Sith Trooper Stats

One of the things I really like about these two characters is their ability stacks. If one thing happens, then something else happens. If that something else has already happened, something else cooler happens. We’ve seen how this plays out on the trooper. I look forward to seeing it how it affects the Sith Assassin.

What do you think about the new event? Do you like the new Sith characters? How long do you think it will take before we see people calling to nerf Nihilus? Leave a comment in the section below.
