Does The Mandalorian Really Need Padro Pascal?

Rumors Abound Around Pedro Pascall Leaving Star Wars The Mandalorian.

Fans were bummed when the trailer for The Mandalorian didn’t arrive when all rumors indicated. They were further miffed when the trailer itself didn’t have as much awesomeness as was rumored. Adding fuel to the fire, Grace Randolf reported that there was trouble on the set. Her reporting described trouble on the set as Pedro Pascal wanted more screen time without his iconic helmet.

Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau said no. Pascal went to the studio.

Long story short, rumors say that Pascal walked off set, creating the domino effect of drama which led to the fans’ disappointment. So again, I ask, do we really need Pedro Pascal in the suit?

“The” Mandalorian

I don’t want to lend too much weight to this rumor as rumors have a tendency to run away with themselves. I will let Mr. Pascal tell his story when the time is right. But let’s face it: Dinn Djarin is not the only Mandalorian in the galaxy. He’s not even the most famous one.

We know that The Mandalorian Season 2 will bring Temuera Morrison back. Rumor and IMDB have him set to reprise his role as Boba Fett. Long-time fans of the Legends material know that Boba Fett escaped the Sarlacc pit and continued his life post-empire.

But even if Morrison doesn’t portray Fett, there are a number of other characters he could play, including Captain Rex. We also know that fans will see Sabine Wren and Bo-Katan Kryze so why not have Rex join the live-action crew. And yet, there are still more Mandalorians we could see step up. The Armorer and Paz Vizla could easily take a central role in the series.

During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Dave Filoni mentioned how he enjoyed seeing Game of Thrones follow different storylines within the show. He further hinted that season 2 would follow after this divergent form of storytelling. So it’s altogether possible that “THE” Mandalorian could simply refer to whichever Mando the storyline follows at that time.

Maybe we’ll even see Baby Yoda donning the armor of the Mandalore.

But like I said, these are all rumors and speculation. Season 2 of Star Wars The Mandalorian will air Friday, October 30th on Disney+.
