Agents of SHIELD Recap S4 E11 “Wake Up” (Spoilers Ahead)

In this week’s episode, May tries to figure out exactly what happened to her. Meanwhile, Aida’s actions lead to everyone being at risk.

Important Things to Know Going Into This Week’s Episode

The team still hasn’t figured out that Radcliffe was behind Aida’s attack. Fitz, who is secretly working on the first Aida’s decapitated head, may be the one who figures it out. But there are flaws in Radcliffe’s plan. Especially because the LMD (Live Model Decoy of May) got cut open last week, which does reveal interior mechanics. There may be a storyline about the Watchdogs this week too, but I think it will heavily focus on the LMD story.

The Biggest Moments In This Week’s Episode (SPOILERS!)

1. Coulson’s Plan:

Having Daisy sign the Sokovia Accords is strange. I don’t anticipate that the Accords last much longer in the movies, considering that they were obviously the wrong move. Beyond that, Daisy has never had a lot of trust in the government, so having her sign the accords doesn’t make sense. The idea that it is a front to plant surveillance in Nadeer’s office makes more sense, but it is still strange nonetheless. Naturally, they got caught. Coulson is convinced that it means somebody fed information to Nadeer, which makes a lot of sense.

2. May’s Escape:

The tactical approach for Radcliffe would be to always follow Aida’s advice. The whole point of creating artificial intelligence is that it is not clouded by emotions or feelings. As a viewer, I’m glad he was against the idea of killing May. May’s escape seemed to show how they are not equipped to keep her the way they want. However, it is, of course, just a simulation.

3. Radcliffe Gets Captured:

Meanwhile, the LMD confronts Radcliffe, and we see that it actually believes it is May until Radcliffe explains the situation. Then, SHIELD busts in and captures Radcliffe off the back of Fitz’ investigation. However, the LMD is still unable to reveal the truth to SHIELD. The interrogation of Radcliffe helps Fitz to realize that it’s not actually Radcliffe.  On top of that, he tipped off Nadeer.

Ryan’s Speculation of the week:

Radcliffe and Nadeer working together will be an interesting twist on the season. I previously expressed my concerns about SHIELD being split into two fights, so teaming their opponents should make that go away. It will be interesting to see how that relationship develops, though. For as bad as Radcliffe is, he doesn’t have anything against Inhumans, and he doesn’t exactly like death. So, he may not be a huge fan of Nadeer’s work with the Watchdogs.
