SWGOH Rise Together Game Update

Ground War

We knew there would be a new game update after the Phoenix Squadron events ended, but I was not expecting this. The latest update posted on the SWGOH forums this week had been awesome to behold. If you are looking for some new information on the SWGOH mobile game, look no further. Even though we are almost halfway through April, it’s good to know what’s to come. EA and SWGOH recently launched the April event schedule and we bring it to you and discuss what it means and how to prepare for each event. As the events go live, you can check out our videos on our YouTube channel as well.

Cantina Double Drops

In honor of Star Wars Celebration Orlando, SWGOH will be running Double Drop Days in the Cantina for 5 days. So save your crystals to maximize your ability to farm materials, shards, credits, and more.

Rise Together/Stand Together

Rise Together

I knew this was coming but I couldn’t have imagined it would be so freaking sweet! Not only are we going to really get to see our Phoenix Squad characters in action, we are going to fight for Ghost and Phantom II ship blueprints. I’m excited to see what these two Rebel ships can do in a space fight.

The Rise Together/Stand Together is the next step in the evolution of the Phoenix Squad in SWGOH. It was intended to launch April 13th and run through the 19th but because of a bug which crashed the game when you opened the event, it was pulled. No word as of yet as to when it will go live.

There are multiple tiers to this/these events. Players will use their Phoenix Squadron to presumably battle against Imperial forces on Lothal or Chopper Base. Once all 4 levels of Rise Together is completed, players will unlock the Stand Together event, which is repeatable 5 times per day. These events will reward holotable heroes with ship blueprints for the Ghost and the Phantom II

You will need a minimum level of 30 to participate.

Elite Combat I, II, and III

Elite Combat 1, 2, and 3

This is probably the most exciting character event we’ve seen in a while. If you’ve any of my previous posts, or watched any of my recent videos, then you know that I was not expecting Gar Saxon or the Imperial Super Commando. I was hoping for Thrawn. That doesn’t mean we still won’t get him in the near future. Regardless of this only somewhat disappointing character choice, I am still excited to see these warriors in action.

The three-part Elite Combat Event will feature two character battles and one ship battle. It looks like it will follow the same set up as the others we have seen before, where you will create a team and have a specific character added to your team. What’s neat about the second event of the three is we will get to see Hera, Chopper, and Sabine in action. It’s one thing to use them in a team you’re creating. It’s something entirely different to have face off against them. It gives you a chance to see what the characters are really capable of doing.

This event will also allow players to earn ship blueprints.

Event I: April 20th-22nd

Event II: April 22nd-24th

Event III: April 27th-29th

Omega Battles: Hoth and Jakku

The weekend of the 22nd we will also see Omega battles return. This three-part event allows players to earn credits, ability materials, and omega materials. If you complete all three levels you will earn two omega mats…which is nice.

Prepare your Rebel and First Order teams to beat this event

Yoda Event:

If you don’t have the little green Jedi master, now if your time. Take your Jedi through various stages of battle against the Grand Master. Each level you beat rewards you with additional shards for Yoda and helps you to see how effective the diminutive Jedi can be in a squad or by himself. The event will run from  April 13th- April 19th.

New Characters, Packs, and Bundles

Obviously, we are going to get to see Gar Saxon and the Imperial Super Commando in both packs and bundles. The update didn’t release the price of these characters, but based on past experience, be prepared to pay 9.99 for the individual character pack and 1,299 crystals (roughly 20 bucks) for the bundle. Each pack will come with a mixture of:

  • Credits
  • XP droids
  • Ability mats
  • Shards

Additionally, we are going to get similar bundles and packs for the Ghost and Phantom II ships. Again, no price has been set for these items, but last we saw ships in the store like this they cost anywhere between 20 and 40 USDs. Similar items will be in these packs and bundles.

Other Updates

The Tie Reaper and Kylo Ren’s Command Shuttle have been added to the Fleet Mega Pack. The pack cost players 2,400 crystals and comes with a wide variety of character shards and ship blueprints. We also see K-2S0 has been rotated out of the Shard Shop and is being replaced with Director Krennic, Death Trooper, and the Tie Advanced. Now, these character shards and ship blueprints will only be available for a limited time so take advantage of them if you can.

What’s Next?

One of the last looks Holotable Heroes get at what’s to come in SWGOH is a warning that the Empire is going on the offensive, veering their forces for a second pass. This could mean that we will be getting Grand Admiral Thrawn sooner than expected. It could mean General Veers will finally be worthwhile. Who knows?

Finally, the last message players get is in code. Maybe it’s binary.

This is clearly a droid speaking and I believe we are finally going to get R2-D2 as a playable character. Will he come in an event like Palpatine and Yoda or will he be another character event? Only time and the force will tell.
