Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes: Forest Moon Assault Battle

Assault Battles: Forest Moon is set to release on September 15^th. It’s been over two months since we’ve been able to battle Ewok and rebel soldiers for various forms of swag. If you remember playing back then, you may have remembered how insanely difficult it was to fight off these furry little bastards when all they did was heal themselves, remove your turn meter, and mock you as you crawled through each of the eight stages.

Now, I was a much lower level two months ago, so mabye I am remembering the event wrong.

But time makes fools of us all, and I plan on making a fool of those cute little death bears on Thursday.

For those of you who don’t know, the event will run three days, starting on the 15^th and according to the official forums, it’s balanced for 5 characters at level 78 and above. Like the last Assault Battle, there will be two levels: hard and damn-near impossible. The forum also says that those who compete in the higher level bout will need to have 4-5 star mods equipped.

The event is designed for Droid or Empire characters and since we recently went through events that forced you to build your Empire team, I feel prepared. Here is the team I am going to start with:

LVL 80, 7* Emperor Palpatine

LVL 80, 6* Lord Vader

LVL 70, 7* Royal Guard

LVL 70, 6* IG-88

LVL 70, 7* IG-86 Sentinel Droid

Most of my characters have between 8 and 10 gear equipped and are level 7 or higher in their abilities. This is an area affect team designed to slow the speed of Ewok teams and reduce their opportunity to attack.

If these don’t work, I also have a 7* Magmatrooper, 7* Grand Moff Tarkin, and a handful of other less effective characters.

Update 5/27

The fuzzy death bears have gotten stronger. Now, each tier has become an incredible challenge for all players to defeat. A new ability, Deadly,  lowers max hp and massively increases damage. This ability allows these fuzzballs the ability to one-shot most characters. To beat this event, you are going to have to take them out as soon as you can. Then, target the Ewok Elder. He brings them back to life. Turn Meter and Critical Hits are massively important during this event.

Many people have tried many things. Zader leads can be effective with the right team makeup. I used Zader (L), Palpatine, Tie Fighter Pilot, HK, and IG-88 and could not win out. I switched to HK (L), IG-88, Zader, Palpatine, and R2 and was able to 3 star all three tiers. Now, my entire team except R2 is G10 or hire; R2 is G8.

The Key with this team is using the AOE to eliminate the Ewoks that have DEADLY and slowly chip away at the others. You will use Palpatine and R2 to stun periodically. Vader’s and HK can take the Deadly attack a few times before they are dropped, so when you use R2’s smoke screen, give one of them the foresight.
